It all started with a Crossman pellet rifle at 5 years old. After years of hunting and shooting with my Father, who taught me how to hand load rifle, handgun and shotgun ammunition, I realized that shooting was in my blood. Graduating in 1992 from the Western Wisconsin Technical College Machine Tool program, I started my career as a Tool & Die Maker.  In 1995, while still working as a tool maker, I took a part time job at a local sporting goods store. There I was introduced to NRA Highpower Shooting by my good friend Frank Fauver. After a few years of shooting competition and having Frank walk me through building my first 600yd rifle I knew it was time to get trained as a Gunsmith.  With the advice of Boots Obermeyer I attended Trinidad State Junior College (TSJC) in Trinidad, CO from 1999 to 2002. While attending TSJC I worked for K & P Rifle Barrels learning to build synthetic stocks and barrel making. I have been working as a gunsmith and custom gun maker since graduating TSJC with an Associate of Applied Science Degree and completing the Third Year, Advanced Repair program. I worked for 9 years as a DOD civilian contractor repairing, inspecting and certifying weapons as a Small Arms Repair Inspector/Gunsmith at the Installation Maintenance Management Activity at Fort McCoy, WI. I have also worked with local, state, and federal Law Enforcement agencies in the maintenance, upkeep and repair of their specialized weapons. The combination of these experiences has given me the opportunity to work on all of the latest military weapons, historic guns, military and civilian, not to mention all manner and types of civilian sporting and hunting rifles, pistols and shotguns. These specialized qualifications have given me a unique set of skills in the custom gun making and Gunsmithing field. Growing up in Wisconsin I have been an avid hunter for most of my life, and have traveled widely to hunt different types of game in all types of weather and situations. My experiences have given me a great deal of understanding about what a hunter is looking for in a custom built hunting rifle, from the fast handling stopping or brush gun to a precision long range rig. I also enjoy working with women and children to serve their specific hunting needs. I have competed in NRA Highpower, Across the Course, Mid-Range and Long Range, which has given me the experience to be able to design, build and complete custom rifles for NRA competition. I have also been involved in local 3 Gun competitions and worked closely with 3 Gun competitors to build exactly what is needed to be competitive in this demanding type of sport shooting. In all of these pursuits, I have hand loaded all of my own ammunition giving me a vast knowledge of internal and external ballistics with experience in load development that results in extremely accurate, reliable and specifically tailored ammunition appropriate to the type of shooting.
